The Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy is South Florida’s premier association of marriage and family therapists. BAMFT provides MFTs and their professional colleagues the opportunity to network, collaborate, and fulfill the State of Florida’s continuing education requirements for licensure and renewal.

The Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy is a chapter of the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy which is a Division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Through the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (www.famft.org), BAMFT advances the interests of the profession and its members, locally and throughout Florida.

Our Mission

BAMFT serves as a resource for South Florida’s marriage and family therapists and their professional colleagues. Providing opportunities to network and collaborate, BAMFT is a forum for mentoring students and for the professional development and continuing education of its members through clinical dialogue and workshops offering Continuing Education Units.

August 2012 (Details to be announced): Registered Intern Pre-Licensure Workshop

Earn the 15 CEUs required for licensure: Domestic Violence (2 hours); Prevention of Medical Errors (2 hours); HIV/AIDS (2 hours); Laws and Rules (8 hours).

November 2012 (Details to be announced): 2013 Licensure Renewal Workshop (7 CEUs)

Requirements for 2013 Chapter 491 Licensees: Ethics and Boundaries (3 hours), and Prevention of Medical Errors (2 hours), Domestic Violence (2 hours).  Licensees are to obtain two hours of domestic violence every third renewal.
